POMONA, Calif. (March 31, 2023) – Currently leading the points in her Randy Meyer Racing (RMR) Oslo Tapet & Gulvbelegg (OTG) Top Alcohol Dragster, Julie Nataas heads to the Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals looking to earn her first win at In-N-Out Pomona Dragstrip.
Victory at this weekend’s Winternationals is a bucket list item for Nataas who visited the famous Pomona, California track as a kid with her dad. Coming off a sweep of the regional and national events at Gainesville Raceway in Gainesville, Florida, a third win already in 2023 would give Nataas a head start on her pursuit of her first Top Alcohol Dragster world championship.
“Pomona is my favorite racetrack on tour. It’s the first racetrack I visited in the United States as a kid and California feels like a home racetrack to me,” Nataas said. “We have been to final rounds at this track but never been able to get the win. I hope this is the weekend we finally get it done.”
After spending a weekend behind the wheel of the RMR Nitro Funny Car with support from Lucas Oil, Right Trailers, Waterman, NGK and Gunk at the Funny Car Chaos event at the Texas Motorplex just outside of Dallas, Nataas jumps back in her dragster for qualifying at the NHRA Winternationals Friday at noon and 4:50 p.m.
“We have a fast and consistent car right now. I know we can get another win,” Nataas said. “Randy has the dragster dialed in and the whole team has been working hard. All the work in the off-season, they’ve continued it and its really paying off.
Qualifying at In-N-Out Pomona Dragstrip continues Saturday at 10:45 a.m. with first round of eliminations beginning at 2:00 p.m. Second round will be Saturday at 4:50 p.m. with semifinal and finals slated for 12:20 and 3:00 p.m.
