CONCORD, N.C. (April 28, 2023) – In her updated 2023 paint scheme, Julie Nataas and her Randy Meyer Racing (RMR) Oslo Tapet & Gulvbelegg (OTG) Top Alcohol Dragster team enter this weekend’s Circle K NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway just outside of Charlotte sitting sixth in points standings after a couple weeks away from the racetrack.
“After a couple weeks off, I’m more than ready to get back at it. The team and I have had great success in Charlotte over the years,” said Nataas who picked up her first national event win at zMAX Dragway in 2019. “I would love to have my first four-wide win here too.”
After starting the season with a No. 1 qualifier and a semifinal finish at a Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Regional event at No Problem Raceway in Belle Rose, Louisiana, Nataas swept the regional and national events at Gainesville Raceway in Gainesville, Florida.
Nataas would then spend a weekend behind the wheel of the RMR Nitro Funny Car at the Texas Motorplex Funny Car Chaos event where she had a semifinal appearance before returning to the Top Alcohol Dragster seat for a quarterfinal finish at the NHRA Winternationals.
“My dad is flying in this weekend so I’m hoping he’s bringing some luck like he did when he was in Gainesville for my sweep,” Nataas said. “We are also rolling out our new look for the season. Blackbeard designed another stunning design for me. It took a little longer than expected to get my new body but it’s here and was wrapped on Thursday, just in time. I can’t wait to see it on the car this weekend.”
Weather permitting, the Circle K NHRA Four-Wide Nationals will begin Friday with Top Alcohol qualifying at 2:45 and 5:30 p.m. and continues Saturday with sessions at 11:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. Eliminations will begin with first round Saturday evening at 5:30 p.m. and continues Sunday with second round at 1:30 and finals at 3:20 p.m.
